Post Your Failures: The Movement

In the age of social media, likes, and the constant flow and access to information, there is a pressing need and desire for perfection. Picture must have the perfect filter; angles and lighting have to reflect our features and hide our faults; stories must minimize our missteps and magnify our magnificence. We all look to achieve the same flawless and pristine presentation. Hair done; nails done; everything did, as they say. While we strive for the allure and mystic of perfection and magazine gloss, many of us neglect to show the valleys in lieu of the peaks; we present what we think the world wants to see.

One of the most unifying experiences we all share is failure. We’ve all tasted our own blood in our mouths during defeat. We all know that for every perfect moment is a thousand failed attempts. May I offer that life is 5% product and 95% process. Failure dominates our time and energy within the process.

Let’s redefine and re-purpose the power and humanity within our failures. Let’s reclaim them Let’s wear our failures like hoodies. Let us connect with one another through our attempts at perfection; and remind ourselves that failure is kin to forgiveness.
